No appointment needed — here’s what to do
A broken hearing aid is stressful. We’ve made the process as simple as possible — drop in, get an honest assessment, and we’ll contact you with a clear quote before any work is carried out.
Bring your hearing aids to reception at either our Bolton or Rossendale clinic during opening hours. No appointment is needed.
Our audiologist will assess your hearing aids and identify the fault. There is no charge for this assessment. For straightforward issues we can often carry out minor repairs in-clinic.
We’ll call or email you with our findings, a quote for the repair and our recommendation before proceeding with any work.
In-clinic repairs start from £50 and are typically completed within 48 hours, subject to parts availability. Repairs sent to the manufacturer start from £125 and are usually returned within 10 working days. Costs vary depending on the nature of the fault and the brand — we will always give you a clear quote before proceeding.
We’ll contact you as soon as your aids are ready to collect.
Free assessment
There is no charge for dropping in your hearing aids for assessment. If we are unable to carry out a repair, you will not be charged for our time.

What if my hearing aid settings have been lost?
If your hearing aids were not purchased from us and the programmed settings have been lost during a repair or reset, we have two options for you.
The first is to return to the original provider who supplied your aids — they will have your audiogram and settings on file and can reload them.
If that is not possible or practical, we can carry out a full hearing assessment and reprogram your aids from scratch at Fresh Hearing. This includes a comprehensive hearing test, professional fitting with Real Ear Measurement and one follow-up appointment, all for £250. You would leave with your aids properly programmed to your current hearing and verified to the highest clinical standard.
A complete reset to factory and re-programming, fitted properly to your current hearing.
- Comprehensive hearing test
- Professional fitting with Real Ear Measurement
- One follow-up appointment included
We always prefer to go direct to the manufacturer
When a repair needs to go beyond our clinic, we always send hearing aids directly to the original manufacturer rather than a third-party repair service.
This means genuine replacement parts, proper manufacturer diagnostics and the repair being logged against your device — protecting any remaining warranty. We only use third-party repair services in exceptional circumstances where the manufacturer route is not available.
- Genuine manufacturer parts
- Proper manufacturer diagnostics
- Repair logged against your device
- Existing warranty protected
- Honest, transparent process
When we may not be the right fit
There are two situations where we may not be able to help — and in both cases we’ll point you in the right direction.
NHS hearing aids
We are unable to service or repair NHS hearing aids. If your aids were provided through the NHS, please contact your local audiology department — they will be able to help with any servicing or repair needs.
Older hearing aids
Hearing aids that are more than around 7 years old may be beyond economic repair due to the availability of parts. In these cases we will always give you an honest assessment and, where appropriate, discuss your options for a replacement.
