Finding the right style for you

Hearing aids come in a range of styles to suit different degrees of hearing loss, lifestyle requirements and personal preferences.

Receiver-in-Canal (RIC)

The most popular style. A small casing sits behind the ear with a thin wire connecting to a receiver in the ear canal. Discreet, comfortable and suitable for most degrees of hearing loss.

Most Popular

Behind-the-Ear (BTE)

The entire hearing aid sits behind the ear, connected to a custom earmould. Robust and powerful - suitable for all degrees of hearing loss including severe and profound.

Powerful & Reliable

In-the-Ear (ITE)

Custom-made to fit the outer portion of the ear canal. More visible than canal styles but easier to handle, with larger controls. Suitable for mild to severe hearing loss.

Easy to Handle

In-the-Canal (ITC)

Sits partially in the ear canal, making them more discreet than ITE models. Custom-moulded for a comfortable fit. Suitable for mild to moderately severe hearing loss.

Discreet

Completely-in-Canal (CIC)

Nearly invisible in the ear canal. Custom-moulded and extremely discreet. Less susceptible to wind noise. Suitable for mild to moderately severe hearing loss.

Near Invisible

Invisible-in-Canal (IIC)

The smallest and most discreet hearing aid available, sitting deep within the ear canal and completely invisible from the outside. Suitable for mild to moderate hearing loss.

Completely Invisible

Hearing Aids - Common Questions

How much do hearing aids cost?

Hearing aids are priced per pair across four tiers - Essential £1,395, Advanced £1,995, Premium £2,495 and Elite £2,895. Every price includes professional fitting, two years of aftercare and a five-year manufacturer warranty. Custom and invisible styles are an extra £100 per aid.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. Fresh Hearing is a private, independent clinic, so you can book directly online or by phone without a referral.

Which hearing aid brands do you fit?

As an independent clinic we fit aids from all the leading manufacturers, including Oticon, Phonak, Starkey and Unitron, recommended around your hearing and lifestyle rather than any single brand. Every fitting uses Real Ear Measurement for accuracy.

Can I get invisible or in-ear hearing aids?

Yes. Custom invisible and in-canal styles are available across the range for an extra £100 per aid. Whether an invisible aid suits you depends on your level of hearing loss and the shape of your ear canal, which we assess at your free consultation.

How long do hearing aids last, and what aftercare is included?

Modern hearing aids typically last around four to six years. Every fitting includes two years of aftercare with the same audiologist at each visit; after that you can continue on a Monthly Care Plan from £25 per month, or pay as you go.

Where are your clinics, and do you offer evening appointments?

We have clinics in Bolton (Melrose House, 183 Chorley New Road) and Rossendale (Haslingden, 65 Lower Deardengate). The Bolton clinic offers Tuesday evening appointments until 8pm, with free parking on site. Call Bolton on 01204 274000 or Haslingden on 01706 215479.
